What is the best product to use on new construction hard wood floors? We do a lot of new construction cleanup.

Answer

Once the floor is cleared of debris, a vacuum is valuable to remove fine soils from crevices in the flooring.
Hard wood may then be damp mopped with a detergent solution cleaned mophead to loosen bonded soils, but the mop must be pressed out as dry as possible. Water, as I’m sure you know, will be absorbed by the wood fibers and cause them to swell if applied in volume. Do not soak mop wood floors.
As to a mopping product, use any detergent that will allow for laundering the mophead in the bucket so that it may be returned to the floor clean.
