Take the big things out of your room. If you have a table, dresser, desk, etc., take it out of your room. This will help you focus on the things you need to clean.

Pick up all your dirty clothes. Throw them in you washer while you're cleaning.

Get trash bags. Depending on how dirty your room is, you will probably need 1 to 3 trash bags.

Gather everything to the middle of your room. This will help you focus on everything, and it won't frustrate you by looking around the room, asking yourself, "Where do I begin?!?"

Turn on the radio Or a CD. Listening to fast music that you can sing along with. This will help distract you of how messy your room is.

Gather things into piles. Make a pile for trash, giving away, stuff that you use or that you want to keep, etc.

Throw all your trash in one bag.

Throw all your charity things (Good Condition) in another bag.

Put all the stuff that isn't going to be shown in a tote. Everything you want to keep (toys,Stuffed Animals,Etc.) in a storage bin and put it in your basement, under your bed, or in a closet.

Vacuum. Vacuum with carpet cleaning powder and get in all the corners really good.

Put everything that you took out of your room back in and dust it off.

Get you clothes out of the washer. Put them in the dryer, and when they are done, make your bed 'catalog material', or neat enough that you might find a photo of it in an issue of Better Homes and Gardens.
