Spring Cleaning Tips

I thought I'd deviate just a bit from our Speed Cleaning Rules series and feature some Spring Cleaning help.

Unless you are one of the rare few that actually enjoys chores, the thought of Spring Cleaning is both overwhelming and depressing. And with the season of blooming buds and colored eggs upon us once again, chances are the dust bunnies under your armoire have also practically sprung to life by now.

With the Clean Team's powerful eco-friendly cleaning products and quality cleaning tools, you will speed through the dirt and dust in no time. Our book, Spring Cleaning by Jeff Campbell, will help you maximize your cleaning time and help you get back to your leisure time. Here are some fast, easy tips for tackling Spring Cleaning:

Move Big Stuff like the sofa, beds, and any other heavy furniture you normally don't clean behind. Pull the item away from the wall, one side at a time, and clean behind it by using the vacuum attachments to reach baseboards and crevices. And a quality vacuum makes the job so much easier.

Give Woodwork A Makeover by washing from top to bottom with a Red Juice to cut through grime, then go over the entire surface with Premium Furniture Polish to make the wood gleam. The results are impressive.

Clean Forgotten Places like the grate on the bottom of the refrigerator, the air conditioning intake vents (our whisk broom is perfect!), the grooves on the doors, tops of door frames, and the lock ledges of the windows (we use the flexible microfiber duster for this). Easy to reach, but often missed.

Vacuum drapery tops with the vacuum attachment and long wand. Just get the very top where dust settles and cobwebs form.

Taking advantage of directionality will save you time and energy. This means cleaning around a room in one direction, eliminating multiple trips. As you work, carry cleaning supplies with you. And when it comes to dirt, clean from top to bottom to avoid having to wipe the same thing twice. If something is already clean, don't waste time cleaning it. Instead, spot clean smudges and fingerprints and focus only on dusty items. Keep tools in impeccable condition and replace them when they outlive their usefulness. Your cleaning tray for organizing cleaning products and small tools, as well as a cleaning apron, will help maximize efficiency. The Speed Cleaning apron is used by housecleaning professionals world-wide and is as important to cleaning a home as the carpenter's belt is to the carpenter at work. It keeps all your tools close and handy for a faster, easier clean. Happy Spring Cleaning!
