RSA launches online training

BURLINGTON, WA — Restoration Sciences Academy (RSA) has launched an online training platform for cleaning and restoration professionals.

RSA Online will be offering courses on a variety of cleaning and restoration topics, including water and fire damage restoration, microbial remediation, carpet and upholstery care, legal issues and more.

To launch the project, RSA is offering three sample courses for free.

"The business account system will be invaluable to restoration owners who want to offer convenient, low-cost training to their staff," said Brandon Burton, RSA technical education manager.

"It''s an economical solution for introducing new employees to the industry, and an effective way for experienced staff to review and hone their professional skills," Burton added.

Paul Davis National names president

CRI approves restructuring

DALTON, GA — The Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) has announced board approval for a new organizational structure for CRI.

The changes, which took effect September 1, will increase CRI''s effectiveness and allow for greater efficiency in addressing issues facing the carpet industry, according to a press release by CRI.

One key component of the restructuring is the streamlining of CRI''s committees, and the new plan eliminates committees and issue management teams in favor of multi-functional panels assigned to address each of three main categories: Product performance and standards, de-selection and extended producer responsibility and issues involving the Carpet America Recovery Effort (CARE).

"We undertook the reorganization with the expectation that the carpet industry would continue to devote time and resources to dealing effectively with critical issues, and to ensure that our trade association uses those resources as efficiently as possible," said John Wells, president of Interface Americas and chairman of the board of directors.

"Without question, the new organizational structure will make CRI a more focused and effective organization," said CRI President Werner Braun.

DKI names director of marketing

WOOD DALE, IL — Disaster Kleenup International (DKI) promoted Michele Donahue to director of marketing for the company.

Donahue will be responsible for strengthening the brand in the marketplace as well as planning and executing the organization''s marketing strategies.

"Michele has had a very positive impact our organization since she joined in 2009. With a proven track record for producing results, Michele''s intuitive approach to marketing has made her a tremendous asset to DKI," said Dale Sailer, president of DKI.

Prior to joining DKI, Donahue managed her own consulting firm focused on assisting smaller businesses with their primary marketing functions.

HydraMaster, U.S. Products add to staff

Mukilteo, WA — HydraMaster and U.S. Products have announced that they have filled four key positions within both divisions.

"This is one of the first things we started doing when I joined the company earlier this year," said Mickey McKee, head of sales and marketing for both HydraMaster and U.S. Products.

"After an exhaustive search, we have recruited four people who know our industry, know our end-customer, and can help us build both divisions to a more prominent level," McKee added.

The four positions just filled are:

Doyle Bloss, marketing and brand manager. Formerly the vice president of marketing and education at Bridgepoint Systems, Bloss has extensive marketing experience starting with his family business, Steam Way International, which he operated until 2003.
Joe Verslui, national accounts manager. Formerly with Bridgepoint Systems for 17 years, Verslui most recently worked within their carpet restoration wholesale (CRW) national accounts division.
Mark Baxter, product manager. Baxter will be responsible for research, development and launch of all existing and new products for both brands.
Ollie Nielson, southeast regional manager. Currently the distribution sales manager for Nilfisk Advance industrial vacuum division, the parent company of HydraMaster and U.S. Products, Nielson will now serve as the southeast regional manager for both divisions.
